Burnley
A Lancashire town, with a 73,021 population in 2001, is Burnley (/ˈbɜːrnli/), England. From Brun Lea believed to have been derived, meaning "by the River Brun, a meadow", is the name Burnley. Apart from the Market Cross, erected in 1295, which now stands in the grounds of the old grammar school, which is now an annexe of Burnley College, little survives of early Burnley.
